Putt-ing the Boss in his place
On a bright and breezy Saturday morning on the outskirts of Chelmsford, a young Web Developer sat in the clubhouse of the local golf course. external swf files and relative paths in WordPress
If you use relative paths for Flash in WordPress, for example you have a basic .swf in which you load new shock wave files or images into, you may find that flash is unable to find these external files. The result? A big white space where you expected a fancy, flashy, all singing all dancing design.

Okay so that was a little vague, but it serves a good point. People don’t read on the internet, they scan. We are so used to searching on google, clicking links and finding we end up in the wrong place, that we tend to scan the page first to make sure we’re in the right place. In addition, we also do this in newspapers. Scanning the headlines, maybe the first paragraph and quickly deciding if we want to read further.
